Private, semi-private or group tennis lessons: which should you choose?

All three formats work. The best one depends on what you need right now: rebuilding a stroke, practicing with a partner, or getting lots of match play for less money.
| Format | Best for | Fawz 4 Tennis price |
|---|---|---|
| Private (1 player) | Fixing technique, fast progress, specific goals | $130–$150 / hr |
| Semi-private (2 players) | Friends, couples or siblings at a similar level | $90–$100 / person |
| Adult clinic (up to 6) | Drills, doubles play, meeting hitting partners | $90–$100 / 90 min |
| Youth clinic (up to 6) | Kids building skills with friends | $40–$50 / hr |
Choose private lessons if…
- You are learning a stroke for the first time or rebuilding one.
- You have a specific goal, like a stronger serve or a league or tournament coming up.
- You want the fastest progress per hour.
Choose semi-private if…
- You have a partner at a similar level.
- You want coaching plus live rallies with someone you will play with later.
- You want most of the attention of a private lesson at a lower price.
Choose group clinics if…
- You can already rally and want more match play.
- You enjoy a social setting and want to meet players at your level.
- You want the lowest cost per hour.
The combination that works best
For most players who want to improve steadily, one private lesson for technique plus one clinic to use it in live play is the sweet spot. Juniors often do two youth clinics a week (the 8-clinic pack) and add a private lesson every week or two.
